Next generation in Nottingham

Sign up to an SSE Wildcats session around the corner from where England are playing

Nottingham will soon play host to some of the biggest stars in the women’s game – but it is also the place where football dreams could begin.

Meadow Lane, the home of Notts County FC, has been selected to stage England’s opening World Cup warm-up match, against Brazil, on Saturday 6 October.

But the city also caters for the next generation, with SSE Wildcats sessions run by the club’s Football in the Community department.

The aim of SSE Wildcats centres is to inspire girls aged 5-11 to engage with football, meet new friends, learn and develop fundamental skills and create the foundation for a lifelong love of the game.

Sessions in Nottingham will take place at the ‘Play Football’ facility at the Arnold Hill Academy every Saturday morning, with each session costing just £3.
